Hello, friends! Long time, no write. That will change. There is much to catch up on! We’ll start here:
I am happy to report that I’ve joined Athan Maroulis in his new project NØIR! Our first release together is out as of last week, a cover of the Cyberaktif classic ‘nothing stays’. Enjoy it anywhere music is sold or streamed online. Might I suggest BandCamp?
We’re hitting the road this June with our good friends in The Russian White and Solemn Shapes on the Children of the New Dawn tour! We’ll be joining from June 10th to June 17th, running to New England and back, with an endcap show in Brooklyn on June 23rd. We can’t make the West Coast dates, which are … already over, so don’t worry about it. Thanks to I Ya Toyah and Komrads for being groovy and rocking for us. There have been a few changes since this flier was made….
Nashua, NH is cancelled, alas. Pittsburgh has been moved to Cattivo, as Black Forge Coffee has met an untimely end. June 14th we’ll be in Millersville, PA at Phantom Power with our good friends Faux Fear as well. The Brooklyn date is at Eris Evolution on June 23rd…. and there will be a few Wisconsin dates in August, as well as perhaps some festival appearances later in the year?
The lineup this go will be Daniel on vocals, Tim Heireth on synths and John Jacobus on guitar, with Holly Andrew singing as well on select dates…..
Hope to see you out in the wild! Check the live page for ticket links!
Here’s some new music for 2023! Daniel recently had the opportunity to remix NOIR, the new project from storied singer Athan Maroulis (Spahn Ranch, Executive Slacks, Black Tape for a Blue Girl.) The song is called “Fallen”, and is dedicated to the late Dave Heckman, founder of Philadelphia’s Metropolis Records. Check it out on Bandcamp!
WOW! Thanks Bruce & Alex! We’re regular readers and admirers of your thoughtful and nuanced views on Our Thing, so we’re super grateful for the kind words. Check out the recap here, and Bruce’s entirely too kind review of ‘various positions’ here.
Check out some high praise for ‘various positions’ here at Sounds and Shadows! Thanks Ken, you guys rock – you’re a much needed voice in the wild. Speaking of, check out this interview Ken did with Daniel shortly after the release of Various Positions!
Long time, no write! We’ve been busy bees around silver walks HQ, as you’re about to find out . Thanks to our friends at Re:Gen Magazine for the marvelous review, and inclusion on their “Best of 2022” list! You can check out the review here, and the Top 50 Albums of 2022 recap here. Thanks Ilker and the rest of Re:Gen, you rock!
The next silver walks release is an EP for ‘eyes of caligula’, featuring the title track, and remixes by our friends Klack, Caustic, Choke Chain and Chris Vrenna (tweaker, NIN, Marilyn Manson). It also boasts lovely art by the multi-talented Steven Archer. ‘eyes of caligula’ is released September 30th on Distortion Productions. The EP will be found on all major online platforms – might we suggest BandCamp?
I’m very happy to announce that ‘various positions’, the debut silver walks lp, will be released on all major platforms and on CD June 10th, 2022 by Distortion Productions. Dark, analogue, noisy and unpredictable, it’s a record about lives in crisis, which seems to be appropriate for our uncertain times. Mixed by John Fryer (NIN, Stabbing Westward, Nitzer Ebb and a million others), artwork by Joshua McAllister, tunage by yours truly. It also features contributions from Stella Soleil, Cubanate’s Marc Heal, Canada’s Eva X, Coral from SCERE and our own Tim Heireth.
Live shows in June and July have been added, some with our good friends in The Gothsicles. Check the ‘live’ section for more info, links will be added to the events as they become available.
